Sr. Joyce Marie Bates, SND
Sr. Joyce Marie Bates has ministered in education, diocesan vocation ministry, parish ministry, and children’s homes. She has spent many years doing JPIC work for the community. She presently serves as the Co-chair of the Advisory Council for the JPIC National Office. She also works part time at St. Mary Parish, Wakeman, OH and Miriam House, a long-term shelter for homeless women and children.
Sr. Kathleen Ryan, SND
Sr. Kathleen Ryan is currently serving as the Co-Director of the Advisory Council of the SND National Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Office.
Sr. Kathleen retired from Catholic Charities after 30 years serving as a Director in the Commission on Catholic Community Action and the Executive Director of the Diocesan Social Action Office. Previously, she taught in Catholic Elementary schools for 20 years.
In the Social Action office of the Cleveland diocese, she was responsible for creating and implementing programs and pursuing legislative advocacy for peace, social and economic justice. Sister continues to be a presenter on Catholic Social Teaching on the local, state and national levels.
Sr. Sally Huston, SND
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Sr. Sally Huston entered the Sisters of Notre Dame after attending Regina High School. She received Masters Degrees in Chemistry, Math and Theology and has spent 52 years as a classroom teacher/administrator in high schools in Ohio, North Carolina and Florida. She also served on several provincial leadership teams. Sr. Sally continues as a Math/Science tutor at St. John School, Ashtabula, and especially enjoys travelling to mission areas on service trips.
Sr. Ruth Lubbers, SND
Sr. Mary Ruth Lubbers, of the Covington, KY region, serves on the Vocation/Young Adult Ministry Team and is its liaison on the JPIC Advisory Board.
Sr. Constance Suchala, SND
Sr. Constance Marie Suchala is from the Toledo region and is an active court-appointed advocate for foster children in Lucas County. She loves nature, especially birding.
Sr. Rita Geoppinger, SND
Sr. Mary Rita Geoppinger is from the Kentucky region and is currently serving as one of the co-directors of the SND Associates and as coordinator of the local JPIC efforts in the region. Sr. Rita devoted her active ministry of 50 years to education, primarily at the secondary level and currently volunteers at the Notre Dame Urban Education Center in inner city Covington.
